This is a general process and covers all four of our design services. Certain sections of this process pertain specifically to our remodeling services and may not apply if you elect to employ a different service such as interior decorating.

1. You may reach us through our Website’s Automated Contact Form or by phone at 619-781-1181. We encourage you to describe your project in the greatest detail possible so that we may evaluate your needs and provide you with excellent service.

2. You will need to send us (via fax: 619-424-9997 or email: DesignTeam@design-n-decor.com) carefully done measurements and photos of your existing space. A simple line drawing with length, width and height of the walls is fine. We don't expect anything more than is necessary to convey to us the room's dimensions and where the windows, doors and utilities are located in the room.

3. A Design Team Consultant will contact you and discuss the particulars of your project. We will help you prioritize what is important to best utilize your space and what is necessary to blend the new into your existing home. Additionally, we will discuss the overall budget so that we can design a project that is within your monetary expectations.

4. Depending upon the details of your project, a cost proposal will be presented to you. Upon acceptance, we will sign a Design agreement. At this time we will arrange a payment schedule, based on the particular specifics of your project and how much work you want us to do for you.

5. Having worked out all the details with you, our Designers will develop a comprehensive project plan. Using your information, we will produce CAD drawings showing floor plans, perspective drawings, and elevations with specifications that detail how your walls and cabinetry will look.

6. We will then e-mail or fax to you the drawings and specifications for you to examine. Then we will discuss them with you at a time that is mutually convenient.

7. After you accept the design or subsequent changes to it, we will e-mail or fax the finished designs to you. At your request, we will also print 8.5"x11" black on white drawings and specifications and mail them to you.

8. You or a competent craftsman of your choice will use these detailed plans to build and install your kitchen, home office or other interior project. We will work with you or your hired tradesman to discuss and clarify the project design. We are constantly updating our photo gallery, and would love to receive before and after pictures of your e-DESIGN project.

9. Depending on the size of your project, the nature of related design services, location and proposed deadlines, we will be happy to consider and make recommendations regarding other details of your venture.

Our staff also includes Design Coordinators who will shop for you to locate special items and ship them to you. We really want you to have a successful e-DESIGN project, and will do all we can to make it happen!
